In the football World Cup, after the round-robin the bottom two teams of the four in each group are eliminated. From there it’s sudden death, with cross-over matches between groups. A lot more cut-throat than the netball WC.

Now that I can follow and think is more straightforward. And have no trouble with it being more cut-throat. Mind you I always have issues deciphering these things. (Took me quite a while to get my head around NWC 2015)

We’ll have 2 more professional standard seasons of Super Netball, NZ ANZ and GB comp. So irrespective of who medals at Comm Games. The WC will be a look forward to. It could be the best one yet.

Is this the same as 2015? I’m trying to remember…

Definitely not. Not even close. This is very fair whereas 2015 was totally unfair.

so I’ve booked our tickets to Liverpool for next year’s World Cup. Unfortunately the packages available in Australia only include 11 sessions, following the Australian games, so we need to source tickets to the other 9 sessions next year when individual tickets go on sale.

Two Australian travel agents have the package rights – Sportsnet holidays offer hotel and ticket packages with flights etc as optional add ons. Events travel are only offering integrated packages of flights plus tickets and hotel plus other touring options.

The cheapest of the hotel packages was already sold out by 10:30 this morning, but we picked up a package with a hotel about 200m from the venue, plus gold class tickets for less than the cost of just the hotel on the Gold Coast.

Looking forward to another immersion in really good netball.

I have just been contacted by the England Netball travel provider as the fan packages for the closing weekend had already sold out and I was unsuccessful. They now had some more packages available exclusively for England Netball members. Great I thought. Until I heard the accommodation forming part of the package was not in Liverpool but in Manchester! Which is 40 miles away and an hour on the train and then 20 minute walk from the railway station to the arena plus a walk at the Manchester end! What a joke! So unlucky takers who don’t know their northern geography will be spending approx 3 hours a day travelling to the venue! all for £499 plus! I’m going to take my chances and hope that I am successful buying tickets when they are released on general sale. Just wanted to warn other Scoop users to be wary of the hotel location on the fan packages.

And the draw for the first session of the first day at 9am 12 July is Australia v (someone), followed by NZ v Malawi. Good opening!
