    Great.

This is excellent news to start 2019 for the Fever.

Also. Their success and the SSN success should transition this show of interest to all clubs.

Silly me, seeing as she was replacing Lee-Jones, I originally just assumed she was a tall GK, but no, nothing of the sort. She’s about 185cm and can play both positions. I think she’s also been MVP at both U17 & U19 National Champs level for WA!

Lewis is 185 and plays across both positions at the back. She is very athletic and has a great vertical leap.

Lewis is an outstanding prospect and I’m very much looking forward to watching her development. I think we could we’ll see Francis in at WD next year in some games and Anstiss and Charles push forward.

I would say, Alice would be a more natural GA.

I think both players have shooting issues. But should gain confidence having someone like JFR to play with.

Hmmmmm. I feel like Fowler would be last player to make her GA more confident, particularly in shooting. We know Fowler will shoot and score 95% of their goals so any GA is going to become a feeding role rather than shooter. If a world class shooter like Nat hardly put up shots, then i dont think either of those two will either. Dont get me wrong, i hope both of them will have a great season but i dont see Fowler being the boost of confidence they need.

From my personal experience, I always shot better if I could just concentrate on my shooting.  If I put added pressure on myself by thinking my shooting partner was useless at rebounding I would over think the shot to give myself good rebounding positions instead of just concentrating on that shot going through the ring.  If I got to play with an Aiken or Fowler I don’t think I would ever have missed (well maybe 90% accurancy :-D ).  It would have been an easy relaxed shot at goal with good follow through.  No tensing up on the shot at all.

Yes, I can agree. But if the shots they put up are few and far between it could have an affect on them in that way. I you’ve been running around for a half a game and only put up a few shots, the confidence may not be as high as someone who is consistently shooting goals. But yes having a good rebounding does give you that extra sense of confidence.

Medhurst has been putting up minimum shots, for a while now. It didnt just start here with JFR. It kinda started way back in her Fbirds days, and it probably got worse each year. She obviously made up for it in using some of her other skill sets – but her volume of shots has been a talking point for a while now.
