Very good signing for them, wonder what this means for Iona Darroch now.   Will she stay

    Blimey, colour me surprised!

What a signing for Stars:  is that because her hubby’s rugby is closer?  Can Darroch play C?  That would be a very quick frontline if so!

Not really that surprising, she’s friends with the new coach and was coached by her in NZ.

I’m not a massive fan of Iona Darroch (she’s married now and called something like Christien) but I don’t know what part of her game I don’t like. Will be interesting to see how Stars go this season. Will Paige Reed get the starting GA bib now or will they try and get a new GA?

Im really disappointed that no SSN team picked up Abernathy like seriously im mad as hell 😭 she is so much better then most of the midcourters in SSN like Coyler, Pitman who are part of their teams starting lineup and the fact that she plays all midcourt positions makes me wonder why they never picked her. She would’ve done wonders at Firebirds 💜

Yes agree, she would be more useful at the Tbirds than Pitman.

Oh heck no. Abernathy is good but doesn’t even come close to Pitman. I agree she is good enough to play to in SSN though, but not so good that it’s crazy that someone hasn’t. I have no doubt she pop back up in Australia in a few years but I would love for her to stay in England and really make a name for herself there.
