Their 2 South African imports were unavailable.

When is their next game? Might be missing them for another week at least.

Yeah, they’re playing this week, just a day or two before the Quad Series starts, so they certainly won’t be playing there.

Surely they could have started SuperLeague later in January?

Yeah, I don’t know what the idea is. Maybe stadium availability meant they had to start last week, but they could certainly have had this week off! Club games on Fri & Sat, then the Quad series starts on Sun. How dumb.

It shows that the SuperLeague is still a massive step below Suncorp and ANZ in terms of preparation

The Superleague has fixtures this weekend but then takes a break the week after for the internationals. Wasps, with 3 players in the England squad, are allowed to postpone their game against Thunder originally scheduled for Friday. Bath with 2 called up and Mavericks with 1 must play. The rule only applies to domestic players so the South Africans cannot be counted.

I like the fact they’ve started. Why wait? A few players missing means other (younger) players get a chance to get on court. And if it means most of the England team are at peak match fitness for the world cup, then thats fine with me.
