Have to wonder how much it’s costing the Ferns or Diamonds.  Somehow think $345 is still way over the top.  Probably costs we would never find out.  Hope the government steps in and helps the Sunshine girls.

You can generally tell a team’s situation and standing in the world of netball by whether amounts of money are mentioned. In Australia and NZ you will never hear an actual $$$ amount mentioned as to how much the association is spending on something or how much it costs to send teams to events etc. But you hear it all the time in Jamaica, Malawi, Uganda, places like that. With this, it’s part of $42 million ($450,000 Au) they reckon they need to cover the whole campaign, not just the World Cup itself, but all the leadup including training camps and so on.

    K thanks Ian

What would worry me if I was contributing was, all the non Netball ppls going along for the ride.

Am remembering thou one of our English posters mentioning Liverpool isn’t the easiest place to get around or stay.  So I’d assume they’d be factors, but for the girls/coach etc not the extras.

<<The Sunshine Girls, who won the bronze medal at last year’s Commonwealth Games, are ranked third in the world behind Australia and New Zealand>>

I thought England were second behind Aus?

I think NZ did drop to 3rd after the CWG, but then Englands 3-0 loss to Jamaica saw NZ back into 2nd spot. BUT then there is the Quad results, which put the teams really close together and NZ into 4th.

    See: https://netball.sport/events-and-results/current-world-rankings

Oops and what I meant to say above, so yes England 2nd behind Aus again.
