Sunshine Coast Lightning has provided a sneak peek into its 2019 line-up, revealing half of its 10-strong squad today. Foundation players Steph Wood, Karla Pretorius, Laura Scherian, Madeline McAuliffe and Cara Koenen have all re-signed for the 2019 season. Lightning Head Coach Noeline Taurua said she was thrilled to have the athletes on board for another year and felt the 2019 line-up was shaping up well. “All five of these players are incredibly talented and it’s their hard work and dedication on and off the court that has seen them develop into outstanding netballers,” Taurua said……..

Well Mikaere has signed with the Mystics so that opens up a defensive spot at SCL, wonder who it might go to. Mikaere was a nice asset for them when things weren’t working, it’s sure The team would be sad to see her go.

Potentially Clemesha. She probably isn’t needed at Firebirds next year, and Lightning means she won’t have to go interstate.

I’m sure Firebirds will want to keep both Jenner and Hinchliffe but it would be good if one came to Lightning, provided either Mentor or Pretorius leave, to get some court time.

This is going a bit off topic now, but if I was Jenke, I would want to keep both Jenner and Hinchliffe. Hinchliffe can play both GD and GK, so it backup for Geitz if she is injured. And having both them play under Geitz and rotate like they did somewhat this year, would be amazing for both there games and he future defence line for Firebirds.

Nope, she hasn’t yet. You may have saw the article concerning the diamonds players from lightning. It said something like ‘new diamonds player Kelsey Browne…and returning players Caitlyn Bassett and Steph Wood’. This is where you might have got confused, but it is referring the players returning to Diamonds again, as apposed to Kelsey Browne who is joining. I read an article that Bassett is tipped to go to Giants, and Folau to Lightning

Just heard the good that Kelsey is off to Magpies. Seems to be a lot of rumours of changes for Sunshine Coast. Basset to Giants, Brown to magpies who will be replaced by Langman and Maria.

I highly doubt Browne would leave. And how would that work with her sister the WA or Magpies already?
