Charlee Hodges was not wanted by the Adelaide Thunderbirds for season 2019.

Tbirds have anyone in the pipeline to replace Hodges?

De Bruin is not the oldest ever: Van Dyk was still playing for the Ferns at 42

I think Temepara would work in well with a speedy GA, like Hodges.

NWYC2017  Scotland v NZ popped up in youtube feed. Dunn is playing GA and looks a bit lost to me. However i noticed Fa’amu Ioane, which got me to thinking where is she??

I know she did her ACL but why haven’t Stars named her in their squad?  They named Cullen last season who didn’t play… and Tactix have named Tem, anyone?

Cullen wasn’t really injured when they named the 2018 squad in 2017.  She just had a little knee clean out prior to this years anz, was expected to be back playing during the season, but for what ever reason she didn’t make it on court.

Tem was named in the 2019 Taxtix squad prior to her ACL injury.  Players don’t get biffed out of the team because they got injured.  Tem is fully contracted to the Tactix.  Her opp, rehab, training etc, will all be based in Christchurch.

And as for Fa’amu, due to the early start of the anz in 2019.  She would not have recovered fully to be back playing, she got injured in what May/June of this year.  8 months isn’t enough time to recover from the injury.

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/sport/netball/shaun-johnsons-silver-ferns-fianc-e-kayla-cullen-elects-netball-in-nz-over-australia

Well if she hoped to play in 2019 then she had no choice but to continue here in NZ.  Too late to join an Australian team and unlikely that even if she remained on the SF radar that she would gain an exemption.

However from that article there is no definite to whether or not she will even take the court here.  It’s not a long season if you remain the country where you are playing and don’t try to commute.  Many couples and families spend months of the year apart without the public dramas about it that sports people and media seem to love – they just get on with it!

Our very own STARS presenter Storm Purvis briefly swaps her training gear for the camera and mic to put together this ripper of a story for The Crowd Goes Wild on ‘How to Survive Pre-Season’.
