I didnt mean the figures were in accurate, the amount of games obviously.
Didnt realise Bassett played every single game in 2018, assumed many others wouldve as well.

Remember, Southby coached at the Comm Games and in the Taini Jaimison Trophy, and despite the fact that it was a bit of a horror show, NZ came up against some weak sides there which skews things a bit.

    Under Southby

    Matches played 14 (won 6 lost 8)

    Shooting stats
    Folau 321/392 (82%) – 13 games
    Selby-Rickit 234/273 (86%) – 11 games
    Ekenasio 135/177 (76%) – 9 games
    Mes 122/182 (67%) – 13 games
    TOTAL 812/1024 (79%)

    .

    Under Taurua

    Matches played 7 (won 2 lost 5)

    Shooting stats
    Folau 212/243 (87%) – 7 games
    Selby-Rickit 86/118 (73%) – 7 games
    Dunn 27/32 (84%) – 4 games
    Wilson 11/18 (61%) – 2 games
    Ekenasio 10/18 (56%) – 1 game
    TOTAL 346/429 (81%)

Interesting the difference in TPSR & Folau. Earlier in the year under Southby, TPSR was playing GS and shooting at 87%. Now she’s GA and shooting at 73%. Likwise, Folau has gone from 82% to 87% now she’s at GS.

Is it a crazy question to ask why Thwaites doesn’t play GA?

I’ve seen Thwaites at GA a couple of times in the past few years, with the Magpies and also at Fast5. She didn’t do a bad job either. I’d actually be interested in seeing the two Caitlins in the circle for the Diamonds some day! (As much as Lisa will never let it happen)

Yeah, and also the player is less tired at GS. TPSR’s accuracy seems to really drop off playing 4 quarters at GA.

I only wondered if she’d been tried seriously in that position. Rachel Dunn has moved out to GA in recent years and whilst she’s definitely stronger at GS, she’s actually been a better GA than I’d have imagined…With a strong attacking C and a workhorse WA it could work?

Will be interested to see a fit Mes or Eke out at GA against Aust for a full match.
