Oct 31, 2015Amy Sommerville, deserves the training partner position at least, thankfully she has been offered it. Interesting, I did not know that Maddie Hinchliffe was a part of the squad last year but interesting that both sisters are in the environment. Was hoping to see Friday somewhere there but I think she is in NSW, can’t remember.

Isn’t Friday playing for Bath? Or was that just for fast 5?

Think it was just fast 5. She played in Canberra this season just gone didn’t she?

Apr 21, 2014Yeah I was trying to figure that out. Can’t see an official announcement on Friday joining Bath for the 2019 season but she has made an Instagram account called ‘Beryl in Bath’ which says she is living and playing netball in the UK

Jul 15, 2017Thinking of traveling for the mid June Firebirds v. Vixens game at Brisbane Arena.
Question is where to book accommodation if venue is Brisbane Arena is soon to be completed in MacGregor, or is it south bank?

Jan 2, 2017Brisbane Arena? Not southbank — over somewhere vaguely near QE II stadium I think.. Cnr of Mains & Kessels Rds.
I’m planning my diy long weekends as we speak so I can get leave applications in at work in plenty of time.
Gonna be a longer drive to the venue next year. (I’m set for accommodation but my sister lives at Narangba)

Jul 18, 2013Brisbane Arena is in McGregor. But there’s not much else around the area. If you stay in Southbank there are busses that will take you straight to the arena – probably 20 mins. And then you’re just over the river from the City as well.

Mar 11, 2018This is a great idea for Lightning and Firebirds. It could make a difference after World having kept a consistent gameplay up. I wonder if any other SSN teams are doing something like this. I think it would be most beneficial for Thunderbirds and Vixens who could have a large chunk of their team leaving for WC and not many people left to have effective gameplay trainings.

Apr 26, 2013In SA it is really common for Thunderbirds players to drop back to state league. There was one year when there was a massive gap between the season finishing and the international season starting and NVB who was Australian captain at the time played a number of games for Contax. All of the bench players play a large chunk of the state league season too even if it is just for a half.
