Realistically, no has to go, Nat is replacing Obrien who will be out for the season, but I assume McCulloch will be leaving.

Reckon Haythornwhaite was always going to stick around, it was kind of like a trial. But the question now is, who goes? I guess O’Brien won’t be ready in time so no contract, and Abbey McCullouch will be the last player is she sticks around

Bit disappointing having 3 internationals in the starting line up though, where does that leave young NSW talent trying to come in.

Yep, and another 3 starters are from SA (Klau, Turner and Proud) which only leaves WD open for NSW talent. Eddy and Garbin aren’t from NSW either which leaves only Hadley and McCulloch if she signs.

Sophie Halpin did well for the swifts in WD this year and that was against Liz Watson among others. I was hoping that they would sign Lauren Moore who can play all three defensive positions and is a young NSW talent. I’m happy to have Eddy on board but her moving back to Victoria wouldn’t have bothered me too much.

I agree! Would love to see her with a contract… she played the game against Kim Green and did really well, and McCulloch was on the bench!

RE: Nat Haythornthwaite I think she will definitely be an option in GA as well, because she entered the team so late this season and didn’t have those connections I think we’ve only seen a glimpse of what she’s capable of or what Akle is hoping to get from signing her

Really good points!! Even more disappointing.

    Sad for McCulloch

I expect Eddy will be used at WD and only changed if needed

Im hoping for Moore or Halpin as a replacement

Sad news don’t think we will see we back to be honest or at least not at swifts but I’m just guessing based on Akle’s comments, no hard info.

    Hadley yet to be signed?

Really? Then what position is the team lacking in at the moment? WD/GD?

Really not surprised at all. She had that knee heavily strapped most of the year and was hardly able to play more than a quarter or a half in most games.

Looking forward to Eddy having a starting position.

Would love to see a young talent signed. Halpen, Lambden, Parmentier. Lots of great young WD talent out there.

Completely forgot about Lauren Moore earlier but very happy with that choice. A young talented NSW player.

So am I, I’m also happy to see her rewarded after being in and out of the main squad for so long.
