LOVE that video. The tough/serious faces on the Vixens kid are hilarious. Which genius thought of that

Will Emma Ryde be involves with the club at all this year? I notice she wasn’t named as a training partner or as part of the squad this year

Ryde is playing for Fury. Will be tough to get court time off Samason though.

Devastating news. Plenty of inspiration around her with Philip having come back from an ACL and Kumwenda currently in rehab.

would expect Sacha McDonold to be added as a training partner.

I guess the situation is different now…

Sadly, Samason is the better player. Guess it also depends on when ANL is and when Kumwenda will be fit as well?

Its quite odd that Ryde was elevated to the Vixens squad so early with seemingly better options in Vic like Samason and Gooden overlooked, even Jane Cook seems more ahead in development. She must have had a good couple of ANL seasons prior and taken some backwards steps bc she was even selected for WYC ahead of Garbin and the others mentioned above. Unless maybe the selectors felt like they needed to have a token tall shooter in the squad. Maybe the Vixens line of thinking was similar as they had a strong option in MJ and could elevate someone should injuries occur and still expose Ryde to that environment.

A couple of years ago Ryde was quite a way ahead in terms of development than Samason, Gooden or Cook. Samason is young and is just starting to come through and now has an ACL to deal with it. IMO Samason is the best of the bunch.

Cook and Gooden have closed the gap on Ryde due to her knee injury.

I am in no way a big fan of Ryde but a few years ago she was ahead of all of them.

Gooden looked well out of her depth at Vixens last season.

Yeah I figured she must have had a good couple of years around the time she was in the ten. i hadn’t realised that Samason had just gotten on the public’s radar either, very unlucky about her acl though hopefully she comes back better.
