The best possible news to start the new year.

As she was on the Foreign and Commonwealth list was she nominated by someone in Australia – maybe at Lightning?

I think I saw a tweet saying that they had supported it.

Good on them! What an honour and it clearly shows how much she means to Australia.

Excellent – so it came from Sunny Coast not EN?  Sound about par for the course!

Sorry I’m a bit late to this conversation.

Can anyone explain how the honours list rankings works? A quick google search shows me that a CBE ranks higher than an OBE and MBE, yet someone like Andy Murray has the title Sir Andy Murray, but is only an OBE. Does this mean that Geva should be now called Dame Geva Mentor? Or are the knighthood titles of Sir and Dame separate to the Order?

    TIA

The titles Sir and Dame are separate and higher honours than MBE, OBE, CBE etc
