They do need to look at how they coordinate tickets though. Vixens used their allocation to Watson, Weston, Mannix and Moloney (which makes sense) however, that means Thwaites wasn’t there. Surely regardless of club all Diamonds should be there? Especially when Francis, Stanton and Nevins are there. Would have been nice for Thwaites to celebrate the year with her aussie teammates.

This is the 2018 awards. Thwaites should have been given a ticket from Collingwood if she didn’t automatically get one as a Diamond.

Well if you want to follow that interpretation Thwaites should not have been at the VIS awards.

My point is Diamonds players should get an automatic invite and not rely on their clubs.

I just noticed the reserves for Team of the Year.

Jo Harten, Kim Green, Laura Geitz.

So no Caitlin Bassett or Courtney Bruce or Ash Brazill. Weird!

If done on round votes, CBass would have lost votes to Mentor and Pretorius, Bruce to Fowler and Anstiss, and Braz because players from a losing team find it hard to pick up votes.

Lightning are going to be scarily good again next year. Teams with limited internationals will be looking to be picking up games straight after the NWC return. That 6/7 day break, which includes a 24 hour flight from the UK plus jet lag, is ridiculous.

Aren’t they likely to have 5 internationals? Maweni, Pretorius, Langman, Wood, Proscovia.
