What a messy game and some really questionable umpiring calls!

Giants 26 – Magpies 23 at half time.

Is this a scrappy, rough game or I am just nettyed out having already watched 3 games today.

Why are Magpies so bad with all those great/very good/current and recent national players? Last two years the coach was blamed……they’ve now got Mentor, C Browne, Medhurst and Nelson …..still not a powerhouse team gelling together.

This Bassett – Harten combo is doing my head in. Is Fitzgerald wanting Jo to be a feeder? Why can’t they be like Thwaites and Philip?

This is such a poor game, for all the great players on display, it’s a total mess.

That was a messy game. JLP improved a bit over the game but still a way to go. Lots of physical stuff and weird calls. Im surprised by CBass’ stats. I thought she was ordinary…

Well done Amy P….a couple of WD MVPs this week… so good

yes, it seemed from watching it that Harten was keeping them in it, and I had the impression that Bassett missed lots more than 2. Amazing the difference between stats and watching live :)

Now… here’s my take on this. I’ve thought about this often. In my opinion, if a shooter is taking most or all of their shots from long range, subconsciously you tend to think they’re doing better than they actually are and if they’re taking shots from close range, you tend to think they’re doing worse. The number of times I’ve been watching Maria play and I swear it feels like she’s just not missing at all, but then I look at the stats after the game and it’s like “what the hell, when did she have all those misses?”
