Not even mentioned on the ABC Radio news this morning….pfft!

Nor the netball world cup, either. There was much hype about how the Matildas were competitive internationally, often called ‘the highest ranked Australian team’ (at six) but they have totally ignored netball this week.

Dylan Alcott makes me so proud. He is such a beautiful contrast to Kyrgios, who has huge physical gifts but no heart.

What a dumb way to decide a Cricket WC final.  England win because they scored 1 more boundary in the super over.

Anyway am gutted but proud of New Zealand.

Wasn’t it more boundaries during the 50 overs? In any case, a dumb way to decide it. Kiwis robbed.

I couldn’t find the exact rule. Whether it was most boundaries in the 50 overs and the Super over combined or just the 50 overs.

As far as I’m concerned there should never be a super over when a team has lost all 10 wickets and tied. Irrespective of the rules and who can bat in the super over.

The most boundaries is another batting dictated result.

All the rules in cricket are geared in favour of batting. Including the bats. Example 1. You can oil yourr cricket bat but you can’t oil the cricket ball.

The ball has had little change over the years. Example 2. You can sandpaper your cricket bat but you can’t sandpaper the cricket ball.

It was more boundaries in the 50 overs, and the thing that really annoyed me, is that there was no coin toss to see who gets to do what in the super over, England who batted 2nd in the 50 overs, got to bad 1st in the power play, that was the rule, so Ben Stokes who had been in for about 2hrs, with all the momention (bad spelling), was set, yet NZ who were in the field had 10 minutes to sort things and get ready to go and score 16 runs.

    Anyway total farce, noting less.

Bit of controversy surfacing about the game.  The 2 plus 4 that England scored in the last over should have only been 1 plus 4 as pictures show that the batsmen hadn’t crossed on the second run before the ball was thrown.

    MCC Rules on Boundaries

19.8 Overthrow or wilful act of fielder

If the boundary results from an overthrow or from the wilful act of a fielder, the runs scored shall be

any runs for penalties awarded to either side

and     the allowance for the boundary

and     the runs completed by the batsmen, together with the run in progress if they had

already crossed at the instant of the throw or act.
