    First round this weekend,

Looking at those team lists I’d rank them:

Marvels, Blast, Manawa, Mainland, WBOP, Comets.

    Why?

Marvels – Grace Nweki, will shoot the lights out and Waqaira at the other end. Both impressed at Otaki

Blast – Beko League winning Coach Piebenga, and defender Fafita

Central – No Howard-Vallance prolific shooter from the last several years, and Temu now deservedly with Pulse

Mainland – No Fenwick to marshall defense end and no-one of standing shooting

WBOP – McPhee deservedly signed to Magic asis O’Sullivan from the other end of the court

Comets – Could be the dark horse with the players signed. But always seem to under deliver

Don’t underestimate central team they will be lethal again with young shooter 16yr old rouchelle fourie stands at 1.88cm and has an immense hold and elevation! I’ve had my eye on her for a while but looks like she has her eye set on basketball! Also saviour tui had a stand out beko season at GA for central last year, very accurate very athletic and can shoot from distance these two will be a lethal combination!

but marvels will have to be my favourites this season very strong through out the court hoping grace nweke can stamp her authority in her first beko season! Nanise waqaira (who has said she will be staying and playing her netball in nz ferns/u21) will be key in the defence with aisha bower also with the very experienced Samon Nathan at C

Dark horses for me are wbop

Looking at all these young talented players our u21 squad already looks formidable

    GS grace nweke

    GA tiana metuarau

WA Killarney morey (if you don’t know who she is you will in the future she reminds me of a Liz Watson)

    C maddy Gordon

    WD Tayla Earle

    GD nanise waqaira

    GK taneisha Fifita

Southern Blast got beaten twice by the Mainland team in preseason and got thumped by Steel by 60+ goals when they had Heffernan and Fifita playing. They lack height, and will struggle I think.

Mainland will be strong with Prosser and Placid running the attack.
