Stars looking better than they did yesterday. Charlee Hodges stepping up

Will take Hodges a little while, to get to grips with the NZ space marking style of defence, and the zone.

    I don’t understand the draw.

Pulse play 5 games. Mystics & Magic play 4. Tactix, Stars & Steel play 3. Doesn’t really seem fair.

Poor management from the Pulse though, They’re the only team that hasn’t taken any training partners but they will play the most minutes. In saying that though, most teams haven’t really been using many of their training partners.

Arn’t the last games of the day just 40min, could be wrong.  Some of the games at the games at the world champs, are less than a 24hr turn around.

Just watched 2nd half of Steel/Mystics game.

Mystics up  6 at half time, still up by 4 at 3/4 time, Steel won by 2.

Mystics used mostly Beko/training players for the half. As did Steel. If I’m correct both teams only bad 2 or 3 ANZP on all half. So it’s hard to gauge where they are at.

Heffernan GA played well and looks to have improved her shot accuracy. She combined well with Potgeiter, but not so well with O’Connell.

Steel defence was way to loose at the beginning of the half and Mystics were able to get the ball to their GS with ease. Erwood, Fafita and McMinn got better as time went on and came up with some great t/o ball in the last quarter.

Not sure what this game will show the coaches with so many non ANZP players on court, but it is good to see some Netty again.  :-D

Tactix 31 up on Magic 24 at half time.

Commentators just said clubs nominated how many games they might like to play, that’s why some have 3, some have 5.

Great to see Jury back, heavy strapping on that shoulder. She says uncharacteristic execution from Magic letting them down,  they have been happy with the preseason so far.

Pederson says they are looking to lift the intensity for the 2nd half.

Maya Kopua taking the ball out looking so cute!

Bevo on for Leaver, faulkner on for mcphee.

    O’Sullivan on for Kopua

Kate Bev……. doing well, quite a crafty player.   2 very tall shooters in the Tactix.

Small stadium, concrete walls so close, and Monica Falkner nearly head butted one of them.
