Just tuned into the last quarter of Steel vs Stars.

Thought the Heffernan twins were very impressive – Georgia shooting from all over the circle and only missing her last attempt for the quarter. Kate combined well with Crampton in the middle. Neither looked out of place.

For the Stars, Purvis and de Bruin were in the back. Saw a lot of turnover ball opportunities but timing let them down. Purvis looks fit. As does Cullen. Hope they stay healthy.

Forgot the final score (!!), however Steel won comfortably 12+

Steel were down by 2 at HT.  Temepara left the court, Stars dropped of. Wilson was woeful.

McPhee and Williams are also great young shooters coming through Magic.
Pulse Steel and Stars seem to be on the same level ( with their top 7)

    Yeah.

TBH, I was surprised at how slick Magic looked.

New shooting end, new Head Coach and two defenders coming back from injury. Could be a dark horse.

The biggy for Stars might be how much George has in the tank. Can she last 60 mins week in, week out and with those ‘Super’ rounds. And if she can’t what’s Plan B. Because it didn’t appear to be working today without her.

Anyway good that the season is nearly upon us and good to see some of the Beko/training players on court.

From first look, the players seem fitter and the games faster.

Also I thought some of the Umpires seemed to let the games flow a lot more.

Magic look good, Pulse the same but the Dunn/Ekenasio combo was the better one, Stars wow they went awol without Temepara, who was limping at the end of the game, Tactix massive hole without Temalisi, Steel look pretty good. Mystics poor.

This is pretty much my take on the games so far too.  Will look forward to the other games.

Kayla Cullen looked good, for 1st full game in, pffffft!!!! a rather long time.  Stars need to stop playing Holly Fowler at C.
