A familiar face umpiring the first game, Pulse v Tactix. Has Josh Bowring moved to New Zealand?

Magic leading Mystics 31-20 at half time.

magic shooting circle of Faulkner GS and Latu-Meafou GA is so impressive!! Lots of shooter to shooter balls. Cable-Dixon is feeding them with ease.

at the other end, Brice can’t catch and Toeave and Hume are struggling to find the connections into her. Karaka has managed to win some good ball back though.

I’ve only watched about 5 minutes so far and Brice has not had a good time. Hope she picks up her game.

She’s much too willing to shoot from range. I know players get criticised if they only shoot from under the post, but Brice seems to be the opposite. She’s too willing to shoot from a distance instead of working to get closer. She’s missed 3 such shots since I’ve been watching and Magic have rebounded all 3.

Liking ALM game. Can someone tell me who was playing C for Magic in the 3rd Q?

Hume’s shooting seems to have improved.

Commentator claimed Brice was having trouble adapting to the physicality!! Seems unlikely, although Jury is playing well, and matches her for height.

No I don’t think that’s the case. Might be having trouble with a defender who’s almost the same height, but she’s had plenty of “physicality” in Australia.

I’ve only watched about 5 minutes so far and Brice has not had a good time. Hope she picks up her game.

From what I saw of the second half, Brice was positioning close to the hoop and Hume was shooting long and Brice was there for the rebounds. Unfortunately she just wasn’t getting them. Also, the Mystics middies lacked confidence to give her the ball over Jury.

    Final score 64-39 to Magic

Mikaere was there but not playing? Could’ve used her height to try and combat Falkner, Latu-Meafou and McPhee. The first two especially were really fast, probably to fast for Mikaere anyway 😉

Lots for Mystics to work on with two weeks until Super Sunday. Magic look to be connecting well and playing fast, accurate netball.

Stars good with Temepara running the mid court, when she not there it’s a shambles.

Just tuned into the last quarter of Steel vs Stars.

Thought the Heffernan twins were very impressive – Georgia shooting from all over the circle and only missing her last attempt for the quarter. Kate combined well with Crampton in the middle. Neither looked out of place.

For the Stars, Purvis and de Bruin were in the back. Saw a lot of turnover ball opportunities but timing let them down. Purvis looks fit. As does Cullen. Hope they stay healthy.

Forgot the final score (!!), however Steel won comfortably 12+
