This is LONG and includes some stuff on American Football which won’t mean much to many of you, but it’s a good read.

With the Winter Olympics coming up, I thought some might like to read this…

Don’t know. That news has been around for a while. Keep up!

Are you a Warriors fan? The women might actually be able to do what the men haven’t been able to.

NRL are contracting 40 women’s players – they have a camp of 52 I think this weekend. Conpeting teams haven’t been finalised yet either. I enjoyed watching them play in the WC final late last year so should be good.

They will, in fact, that’s the plan. They’re not going to allow the Warriors team to simply be the NZ test team, so there will be lots of NZ players coming to Australian teams and some Australians playing for the Warriors. Will still be a strong team though. At this stage, it looks like it’s only going to be a 6 team comp. Which isn’t great. 8 would be ideal for a start. But anyway, at this stage I would suspect the competition will be NZ, Bris, St George, Cronulla & 2 others. Possibly Souths would be one & either Melb or NQ the other. As a North Qlder, it would be a travesty if they miss out. Up until recently, NQ was basically the strongest area for women’s rugby league in Australia. In fact, some of the best players have come from right here in Mackay.
