Very poor selections and changes in this game. Don’t think Australia had their best lineup on court at any time. In fact she didn’t really know what our best lineup was.

Just rewatched it. It felt like none of the Australian changes were tactical but rather pre-planned and irrelevant to the situation out on court.

Also, Beth Cobden was so good – I didn’t really notice this last year when watching.

    WOOHOO ROSES!!!

“None ” of the changes? I beg to differ.

Ian was right. LA may not have known her best team. I felt she was led by statistics.

Even if she was led by stats, what she thought was the best 7 should have each played the full game in the quarter final. Particularly when there were a lot of shared quarters in the round robin part. Iron it out in this game.

LA put out what she thought was her best 7 in the final. Some of the performances didn’t quite aim up. The Roses caused that. No-one else. They were physical, determined and committed.

You had to make changes to counter the Roses. Or leave it alone. That in itself is a tactic. Based on Pettitt shooting 100% leading into the GF, she had cemented 4 quarters in that GF. Let me be clear – not in my mind. However, the Roses forced errors from Pettitt. LA can’t have expected that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wood for Pettitt was tactical. Pettitt being slightly off her game wasn’t pre-planned. The Roses put some of us off our game. Once that happens – you have to fix it – with what is on court or what is off court.

Seriously? I’ve seen the game 5 or so times (like most quality International Games). The Roses were magnificent and worthy winners. Australia had their chances.

It is really nice for the Roses to have that in their Trophy cabinet. With any luck we can win the World Cup so it can go into cabinet #6 which is currently empty.

Thank you Turning Point:we were pretty good weren’t we?😊

This world cup is going to be so interesting:South Africa have beaten us recently and so have Jamaica, so both countries will be confident they can do it again. Added to this New Zealand and Australia are both out for revenge and will be gunning for us…..exciting and terrifying!!!

I would love it if we could make the final but I’m not taking it for granted…..
