Thanks to Danny for much of the information in this thread…

In 1990 in Auckland , Netball was introduced to the Commonwealth Games purely as a demonstration sport. Australia played New Zealand in a single match played on Feb 4 . No medals were on offer.

What an Australian line-up. Really admired Dalwood, Cusack, Kenny, Fielke and McKinnis.

Wow, so there was a time when Finnan was the main WD? Or she was a GD usually in the Aus team?? And I guess this was before McKinnis!

And I thought Wagg mainly was WA/GA…

Vicki Wilson was out for Australia and Wai Taumaunu & Sandra Edge were missing from the NZ team.

No worries Ian, Ana Noovao went to WA at that halftime change and April Ieremia came off. Sharon Finnan was the main WD in 1990, and a few other brief appearance, never saw her play or heard that she played GD for Australia as Australia had quite a few GD at the time Fielke, Jencke, Harby and Devery sometimes.

Before her lisa Beehag married name Wilson was in 1989,1988,1987 and Simone Mckinnis from 1991. Sharon Finnan played alot of her club netball at GD  (Sydney Sandpipers) (QLD Firebirds) and for NSW, we had training matches against them. Wagg was mainly GS/GA before she started moving to WA later in her career, part of it was her shooting percentage had really dropped off and because of her height and defensive pressure she made a really good WA.
